Dreams of Sabbath

Dreams of Sabbath

-

-

I wish to run away from here

To somewhere where You are near

Where I can surrender and hear Your voice

When truth can be truth and not a choice

-

Take my ears and leave me deft

To not hear awful things that are said

Leave the music and laughter to be remembered

But take away the evil mumblings unuttered

-

Guide me through these indecisive thoughts

My hands are neither bound nor free

My eyes are still clear to read your words

My ears still wait for Your voice, O Lord

-

Never do i stand alone to face the endless battles of faith

Ne'er should I be rattled when I am summoned

Use me and guide me, Yours are my will and strength

With You, my faith will never be broken nor bent

-

I wait for You, each and every day

That I look forward for the coming end

This be eternally true and correct

You are my Sabbath, my rest

Counting Your blessings

Whiskers commented on Dreams of Sabbath

Nice heartfelt sentiments. Yes the Lord is our refuge in a wicked world as we live and await our graduation to glory and Gods coming Kingdom age here on earth. Blessings, Whiskers.

Thank you Mr. Whiskers! Sometimes you are just so tired and all you need is a prayer to keep you going. Godspeed!

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
