    Poem Commentary

    I tried so hard to do a good thing, but it ended up only causing more pain and the regret burns like a hot flame but in its wrath I am burned up.

    what good is it

     how can a good deed 
    turn out so bad
    how can a plead for unity
    drive them till their mad
    how can I rest peacefully
    with such sorrow in my heart
    how can I stay together
    when it all keeps falling apart

    how can I right those things
    which accidently have all gone wrong
    what words could I speak to them
    or sing in somber song
    how can I ask such a thing
    that they would forgive my sins
    how can I start to convey my regret
    so that they could understand

    I meant to harm no one
    I only thought to please
    to smile a favor on them
    and put them all at ease
    but like a fire's fury the pain and chaos erupt
    and burn away my efforts
    and leave them broken up
    and how can I come back from this with only shallow pleas
    and make them see that I meant the things that I did to
    be no evil deed?
