    Wishing for you

As I wish upon a star,
I stare at the night sky.
Thinking of a place off far
To spread my wings and fly.
Spread my arms and fly away,
    never to return.
I’ll have a home, a place to stay.
The only thing my heart does yearn.
So I clasp my hands a little tighter,
as I watch the night unfold.
Tonight I sleep a little lighter,
as I dream of a family to hold.
I can only hope my dream comes true,
Soon I will have a family in you.

This poem is wonderful, your imagery reminds me a lot of stuff I've written before. Hopefully I'll post more soon so you can see what I mean!
