A Blink of Eye Lashes
How fast each minute
so quickly it passes
Less than a wink
... A blink of eye lashes
Once in our youth
time moved so slow
We thought we were wise
So little did we know?
It seemed an eternity
An absolute absurdity
We longed for a time
Our maturity to show
Then about fifty
Less time in allowance
Minutes pass quickly
Less bank in our balance
Now we ponder where
Slow minutes were squandered
As fast we approach
The unknown yonder
What have we left?
Was family best?
What part did we play?
Was love left at bay?
So waste not your time
Show love to your masses
Your wink eternally linked
To their blink of eye lashes
so quickly it passes
Less than a wink
... A blink of eye lashes
Once in our youth
time moved so slow
We thought we were wise
So little did we know?
It seemed an eternity
An absolute absurdity
We longed for a time
Our maturity to show
Then about fifty
Less time in allowance
Minutes pass quickly
Less bank in our balance
Now we ponder where
Slow minutes were squandered
As fast we approach
The unknown yonder
What have we left?
Was family best?
What part did we play?
Was love left at bay?
So waste not your time
Show love to your masses
Your wink eternally linked
To their blink of eye lashes
