A Time to Remember
A time to remember a time to reflect
Of the soldiers in war time who never came back
Somebody's daddy or somebody's son
Some were just boys life hadn't begun
To take up the gun in the name of the king
To fight for your family's peace and freedom to bring
Lovers left weeping women alone looking after the
children keeping a home
Times were so hard not much food around turning
to nature and the soil in the ground
Working so hard trying to make do worrying about there
husbands and young sons to
Woman now working in factories and fields running the country
in a pair of high heels
Longing for the day when this war is through
So they can all be together a family a new
All the while not knowing the hell they have been through
Soldiers came home shell shocked and torn missing there brothers
for ever to morn
Some came home missing there limbs some so messed up to hard to begin
Some turned to the bottle to try to forget but even today they remember it yet
Many cannot speak of the horrors they seen while saving there country
while serving the king
