Dare To Be

Poem Commentary

I entered this poem into a nearby contest, and my schools poetry book. It didn't win, but it's still one of my favorites.

Dare To Be

Dare to be
Most people Do Not
the would'ves,
the could'ves,
the should'ves ,
Do Not
They care, but do nothing,
Forgotten in time,
As the ones who Were Not,
Not to help, Not to shine.
To Be is to act,
To stand for what’s right,
Solve the world’s problems,
Help the blind find their sight.
I dare you to be the one that Is,
the one that Can,
the one that Does.
I dare you to be the one that Lives,
the one that Acts,
the one that Loves.
With troubles and hardships,
The truth must come out.
Only one solution,
For that, there’s no doubt.
Now’s the time for action,
And we all do agree,
We must begin working; One world,
To Be.

A very good write that can be even greater! I feel (note feel is not a true merit of works) that if this had a tad more workage it would be even better. I can't tell a heart how to beat or put it into chords but I can feel it's depth is deeper than what's in your words. Nicely done!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
