I'm a picture in your mind
Oh remove me from your thoughts of perfection, I'm way too high, upon the pedestal you place me, you can't even reach me,
Oh why? oh why?
Why can't you see that in reality i'm just like you?
Longing to be loved and feel something that is true.
This image you have of me so perfect, all i do is let you down,
for my careless ways show no mercy for your frequent frown.
I'm a woman, only human, incapable of being who you see me to be,
Oh take me down i'm too high, PLEASE RELEASE ME!
Place my feet upon the ground and let me live in normalcy,
feel me, hold me, love me, oh baby, set me free!
Allow me to be a simple woman purely of flesh and bone,
quit thinking that if you hurt me my heart is made of stone.
All i'm saying is i don't deserve the Queens crown placed upon my head,
I'd rather be a peasant girl and have your love instead.
