Love and Loss
There i stood one foot in, one foot out,
Going through the motions, my mind filled
with doubt.
Barely shutting one door,
for you to open up one more.
You stood in that doorway so calm
arms open,
receiving me so fully, you took me in
when i was broken,
You gave me the love that i lacked,
like Bonnie and Clyde You always had
my back.
Oh how you promised you'd never
walk in to walk out,
You really showed me what love was
all about.
Comforting me in ways undescribably
Oh how i thought you'd never lie to me,
never hide from me, you see,
you were everything i needed you to be.
That was until she started calling you,
the one who you tried to hold on to,
the one who rejected your advances,
who paid no mind to your romances,
yet she was prized in your eyes,
filling you with her empty lies.
She called and you went running,
Oh she was very cunning,
or maybe you were just too stupid
to see,
you already had everything in me.
You had a diamond and left it for
a stone,
that's why when she left you,
You were all alone.
