    Poem Commentary

    I wrote this in memory of one of my dear friends who took her own life three days after my birthday

    In memory of Shannon Kinjerski

     Shannon, you were a great friend/ Our love we send/ We all miss your sweet smile/ Girl, you had style/ Many are sorry that they missed the chance/ To see how lovely you could dance/ We can't believe you are gone/ Leaving many feeling all alone/ We don't understand/ Why you didn't reach out for a hand/ None of us know what to do/ But say, "WE LOVE YOU"/ All we can do is cry/ And wait for each day to pass by/ To take our pain and sarrow away/ But until that day/ We have each other/ And we can lean on one another/ Shannon, you're a treasure to miss/ And to the heavens above we send a kiss/ In our hearts, you'll always be/ You're an angel we want to see/ So shine us a light/ And let us know that you're alright/ Our emotions are under attack/ And how we want you back/ Many want to place blame/ But forever now, candle holds a flame/
