The Letter Before The End

Poem Commentary

This poem i wrote about the last letter a man writes, before he ends his own life, to a woman who chose to not talk to him for, to him, what seemed like eternity because he did something very wrong to her and she had chosen not to recognize that he was human and made a mistake. Simply put. Be careful the damage you cause by giving someone the so called silent treatment instead of giving them another chance to be better.

The Letter Before The End

Where I go you can not follow
The pain of losing you has left me hollow
Cold and dead inside
So filled with sorrow I can't even cry.
I broke you down
Now you wont speak
I'm sorry that I was so weak.
Though what I did
You didn't deserve
It did not this cold dead silence earn.
I went and made myself a better man for you
But still your silence toward me has yet to end
So this is the last letter ever I will send.
I'm sorry my love
No strength I have left
For the silence has taken every breath.
My heart wont heal
Your silence has left me so bereft
So now I say my last goodbye
And warmly embrace the hand of death.
