DANGLING

Poem Commentary

This poem describes the daily struggle to survive in a material world.

DANGLING

Dangling, not living

Hanging by a thread

Seemingly going nowhere

Unsure of the road ahead

Entangled in a web

This maze we labeled life

Ever seeking direction

No matter victory or strife

Often mindless of our brothers

Entrapped within their webs

 Absent in their stormy tide

Appearing once it ebbs

Imprisoned by a material world

Will we ever find a way?

So hard to see the future

When we can’t get past today

Dangling, not living

Leaving little to boast

Incessantly short of enough

But a trifle more than most

Your write flows like water over the tongue, easy to read and comprehend. An excellent write 10 from me.

I think most of us have felt this way at one time or another and many of us feel this way often, LOL. Very insightful and introspective poem, sounds like the concept of the walking dead, people who go through the motions of life without direction and a higher purpose, lost wandering in the darkness, never knowing they are lost to begin with. Purity of the soul, journey well!!! with grace and humility ANGEL

I like the awareness, and I feel the same, life isn't a joke is it, this tells me your heart, and that you see that life can be better for all of us, I am glad that I came to your first poem. Also this tells me we think alike when it comes to humanity, and community. I guess all we can do is try, ty WS

I really liked this poem. You speak from your heart as I do also. I think you are quite gifted.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
