The Daydream

The Daydream

I sit here staring out the window,
the icy rain brings forth a shiver.
My thoughts carry me far away
to his cabin by the river.

Visions born in childhood dreams
emerging real enough to touch.
Their essence all consuming
dancing just beyond my clutch.

 This teasing taste of happiness,
a connecting of two souls;
as if two actors on life’s stage
had found their perfect roles.

“Don’t give up on me”, I whisper,
for the stars have never lied.
Our forever’s meant to be,
fate wants me by your side.

Though today the miles divide us,
I’m enjoined with you in heart.
Destiny planned our paths to cross,
love won’t let us stay apart.

Very sweet...................................................

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
