Dark Beginnings
Morning could not come sooner my darlingRelight the candle and watch the world melt away
The flames dance in our dreams
It burns away all hope we have
The light dies again before the sun's first ray
The dawn is a distant future
Refill the glass and drink the world away
The inebriant washes all over our dreams
It drowns all happiness we have
The glass is empty again before the first ray
Daybreak is just a faint glimmer in the distance
We all live in the dark and in the gray
Blind to what we should be able to see
With nowhere to go we become hollow
Waiting for an even darker day
