    Poem Commentary

    This started out as bits and pieces of three separate poems until I finally realized that they all belonged in one.

    In my heart

     This loneliness in my heart
    It wasn't there in the start
    An empty sensation
    A shallow expectation

    It's all I ever wished for
    To be the one you adore
    But some days
    Oh some days I don't know why

    There's this sadness in my heart
    Doing its best to play a tragic part
    It seems to be a piece of me
    A piece nobody can see

    Aching, longing, and wishing
    Doubting the happiness I see
    This heart on fire, soul burning
    And it's getting too hard to breathe
