Flower Girl
I am a white daisy in a field full of green,
Wildflowers and thistles, together it seems,
But when you appeared on a clear sunny day,
My daisies shone brighter in a vase made with clay.
For you picked me, my darling, right out of the soil,
And planted my roots where there'd be no more toil,
In pots where my petals smile up at the stars,
Thanks to your water from skinny, glass jars.
All over the house, on tables you spread,
Colorful daisies that dance from your head.
I join you in sharing my gift giving hues,
And decorate houses in lilac and blue.
Now, you are the sun shine that lightens my day,
You are the warm breeze that blows fears away,
For I have known others who labored and fought,
My affections they strove, but it was for naught.
With a song in your heart, so witty and gay,
You turned my heart into a fancy bouquet,
Bluebonnets and Lilacs along with bamboo,
I'll decorate houses and cottages for you!
