The Captain and His Lighthouse
I pray wisdom, wit, and understanding
Guide your footsteps each new day,
As you climb up the twisted stairway
Come what will; come what may.
While ocean breeze renews your heart
And confession fills your soul,
On dark and quiet mornings
Your candle always glows.
Reflecting fire encircles
Exposing rocks and more,
Your light revolves so steadily
Each sailor finds his core.
He peers between the white salt waves,
Through fog washed lenses, brass and brave
The ship and crew beneath the tower
Will look to him this very hour!
Who’s the Captain of the sea?
The one who stands so faithfully
I thought by now; I thought you knew
The Captain of this ship is You.
Guide your footsteps each new day,
As you climb up the twisted stairway
Come what will; come what may.
While ocean breeze renews your heart
And confession fills your soul,
On dark and quiet mornings
Your candle always glows.
Reflecting fire encircles
Exposing rocks and more,
Your light revolves so steadily
Each sailor finds his core.
He peers between the white salt waves,
Through fog washed lenses, brass and brave
The ship and crew beneath the tower
Will look to him this very hour!
Who’s the Captain of the sea?
The one who stands so faithfully
I thought by now; I thought you knew
The Captain of this ship is You.
