Biker Babe
Riding the back roads of America,
I melted into you.
I’m a Babe on the back of a bike
And I see us everywhere!
I felt the engine roar beneath our legs,
Vibrations raged between us.
Bringing us closer to the earth and to God,
Ever testing our humanity.
Fingers snugly tucked into your belt loops,
I leaned into you for closeness.
Stripes flashed beneath our feet,
Reminding me of a blurred movie.
You turned to approach the canyon
Where we jumped into a speedboat,
Bouncing, flying, white knuckles gripping,
I felt like a flat skipping stone.
We found our paradise on the back of a bike,
In the boat as we bounced on the lake.
Mesmerized by the freedom of the wind,
I will always remember you that way.
