The Mountain Steep
There is a force you must contend,
Before your soul it apprehends,
Don’t sell esteem short, my friend,
Be forceful, mighty, to the end.
To conquer, shall consume your soul,
Until the flag’s placed on the pole,
Though cold and frigid at the top
Your life depends upon this rock.
The last breath is the hardest one
But climb you must, till you are done,
To fail would be a loss too dear,
So keep your mind and soul from fear.
To scale the mountain is your goal,
For life’s a journey, I am told,
Take heart my love, it can be done,
Smaller souls climbed greater ones.
Unto each man, his trials in life,
According to God’s plan, is right,
Do not assume yours is too great,
But conquer mountains by your faith.
With steady foot and heart you’ll see
The other side, with sun and trees,
Ocean breezes fill the air,
Alas! My friend, you’re almost there!
So keep this thought before your eyes
When climbing up the cold, dark side,
The rock you’ve conquered, steep and blue
Shall open up your dreams come true!
