Ghosts
Everyone has skeletons in the closet,
or so they say, but sometimes
even old bones can fade away.
Leaving behind the faintest energy of woe.
Creaking in the floor boards,
whispering when the wind blows.
It may lead some people to hang their heads
and cry.
Or shake in their beds and pull the covers high.
But these are not the emotions that these things
instill in me,
For these are just the ghosts of skeletons
that people have set free.
