HeartAche

The heartache of the known
A little girl who has always shown
A peace and love so great
For a mother who barely participates
The unknown factor
Of which I stood by and watched
The aching heart of my daughter
The tears she spills from her eyes
Her stained cheeks and swollen eyes
I used to act surprised
Like I didn't know
Because the truth hurts you see
How do you live with yourself
Knowing some things just can not be
Not that we will ever be united again
But the simple fact is the here and the now
The way I want to be with her, physically
All the way at home in two separate homes
Lies a daughter who would want nothing more
Than a mother whom she can see and spend time with
And the mother, wanting nothing more
Than to find peace in a treacherous world with her daughter
The heartache hurts horribly
Tears every single day
I need to fix this disease
It is surely not of me
But surely of a woman in need of love
For a little girl in need of love from her mother
The heartache of the known
A little girl who has always shown
A peace and love so great
For a mother who barely participates
The unknown factor
Of which I stood by and watched
The aching heart of my daughter
The tears she spills from her eyes
Her stained cheeks and swollen eyes
I used to act surprised
Like I didn't know
Because the truth hurts you see
How do you live with yourself
Knowing some things just can not be
Not that we will ever be united again
But the simple fact is the here and the now
The way I want to be with her, physically
All the way at home in two separate homes
Lies a daughter who would want nothing more
Than a mother whom she can see and spend time with
And the mother, wanting nothing more
Than to find peace in a treacherous world with her daughter
The heartache hurts horribly
Tears every single day
I need to fix this disease
It is surely not of me
But surely of a woman in need of love
For a little girl in need of love from her mother
