Hearts on Fire
You checked out ... stroked out
My hearts on Fire
Funny, when you came around
Found your brain .... found your voice
You still had the desire
To tell me its my fault
Not you .... not alcohol
Not even the way you live you life ,on a tight wire
Broke me .... enlightened her
My world is in a mire
Told you, many times that it would come to this
So many of us tried to please you
Bring you some happiness
But your mistress you held tight
Told us it was your all
Now the life you've led
Will be different in many ways
You have to heal ,take back yourself
Heal... come what may
You had my heart ,it was not enough
Because of your disease
Its ruled your head controlled your bed
You would not listen to what I said
I must go on ,learn from this
A battle I must wage
You tell me to wait you're coming back
To lose me you cannot face
The sad part is ... you belong to many more than me
So I will stay ,stand my ground
And pray for your release
From my heart to yours ,you fully know
The love I felt for you
Now all I want is for you to live
And never feel no pain
And when you fully become yourself
To realize
Your life was not in vain
