    I AM ALONE

    I am so alone
    I sit here in my room
    Lonely and alone
    Memories flash across my mind
    Like pictures of a different time and place
    People try to help me fit in
    To a life I used to wear
    Like a second skin
    So comfortable and familiar
    Now that life is alien to me
    Strange; weird and uncomfortable
    I do not fit in
    I am alone
    I seem to prefer it that way
    Even when there are people all around
    I am alone
    Lost in world
    Only I seem to see or hear
    Sights and sounds fill my lonely hours
    Longing for the day
    When you will share them with me
    As we walk hand in hand
    In a world only we can see or hear
