I will Not be Defeated

  • Emotional

    I will Not be Defeated

    Anger will not lead,

to a place where I bleed,

    seeing my desperate need,

    thinking you’ve planted a seed,

    where evil can feed.

    Falsely, you beg and plead,

    selfishness is your true creed,

    bottomless wells of greed,

you believe that I will heed,

    to your heartless deeds.

Gardens of troubles I must weed,

branches hung heavy with sadness’ leaves,

a drop of peace drips solitary beads,

into a pool where I can heave,

    s sigh that relives.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
