Like the Dying of Stars
Surrounded in darkness, on your radiance I must feed,
passions burst I splinter, into dazzling shards of need,
burned by everything you touch; heart, mind, and soul,
an undeniable force, near you my resolve will not hold.
In your embrace I long to blaze in your scorching depth,
to be seared by your regard, you cremate my flesh,
until I am but ash, blown on the winds of your breath.
Like a dying star you explode across my darkest skies,
your brilliance erases everything before my eyes,
a vision of unconditional love I see you refined,
I stare longingly into your light, without fear of going blind
Your exposed heart, a beauty beyond what I could ever imagine,
You have been concentrated into a core of inescapable attraction,
becoming the very axis on which my universe will forever spin.
With you I have learned how to live and love again,
for too brief a time you will outshine even heaven,
and as you dwindle into an unseen faint point of light,
I will feel your influence, pulling me in tight.
