    ILLUSIONS

When fantasy succumbs to reality, destinys child does prevail,
The life of illusions, somehow shrouded in a veil.
Caution thrown to the wind, dam the torpedoes, full speed ahead,
All that's wrought in wisdom, in a grave, blanketed with the dead.

Passion fronts as reality, harbor master of the sea,
Relics on the shoal, were once you, once me.
Now you lie in ruins, screams on deaf ears only in vain,
Where ever the wind blows you, is where you'll feel the pain.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
