THE NEW LANCELOTS
Medieval times gave us chivalry, men that were gallant,Such heroes exist today, though as open they are not.
The finest and the bravest, save lives everyday,
Be it a fair maiden, or a child at play.
We should honor them still, as Knights like Lancelot,
To show them we care, forgotten them we have not.
Thier task even tougher, yhier burden laden more,
Without the regality, that was shown in days of yore.
Lancelot may slay a dragon, once in his life,
Then all his days live happily, with a beautiful wife.
Our heroes of today, face death at every door,
Honor them we must, now and forever more.
Lest we forget, the sacrifice they make,
Were it not for them, the next step we could not take.
Offer them encouragement, a hug in time of need,
For that one life they could not save, thier hearts do bleed.
They give all they have to give, even when feeling low,
Lose one life then save another, right back in the flow.
Thier hearts often heavy, thinking they could have done more,
Feeling the anguish, as life closes another door.
Women have taken thier place, among the bravest of them all,
New lancelots we must honor, new lancelots will fall.
Before it is to late, give thanks to those who dare,
For as lancelot was a hero, those of today are truely rare!
