THE SAD PAINFUL SIDE OF YOUTH
I was shot by a child, no reason or rhyme,A younghster myself, I can't find the time.
Try and understand, how all this could be,
A classmate could shoot you, with hatred, shoot me.
Was it all that bad, did we shun you that much?
Or were you just troubled, completely out of touch.
Did society fail you, not see your planned path,
How did you find the anger, to reap such wrath?
Those that lay dying, were begging, lend a hand,
As your parents were sobbing, trying to understand.
Hurt me if you will, But don't shoot me I may die,
What is it that made you, causing me to cry?
I pray for your family, this tragedy has nothing to gain,
For the lives that are lost, they feel twice the pain.
A parent loves a child, unyielding yes it's true,
For what my child has done, then surely I've done to you.
As you grieve for a loved one, think of how I feel,
One that I loved so much, has caused our hearts to kneel.
I do not ask you understand, yet forgive what has been done,
For the deamon that took my child, is the one that took my soon!
