    scarlet

    Tears that run

    cuts that bleed

    pain as much as the ocean is deep

    silent screams

    a scar

    a mark

    a hidden life

    so far apart

    a secret colored scarlet

    a lie woven in red

    not always are we found dead

    a struggle to hide

    a pattern to break

    no time to try

    everyone wonders why

    a heart torn

    stitched and glue

    continues to break

    to fall

    to shatter

    fragile as glass

    red as a rose

    scars like ridges

    tattered and worn

    struggling to cope

    wishing themselves a moment of truth

    Dear amithissecret, // I have to say that this a very disturbing poem, because it sounds like something written by a woman of, say, thirty or older, who has suffered a lot. At 14, it is shocking that you have this in you, to bring it out in a poem. I hope it was an exercise, and not a reality. You're too young to even know how young you are. // The poem is well written. You are a precocious young lady. That gives me hope that maybe this poem is an exeercise. I was precocious, too. I used to write exercise poetry in the early days of my life. // If you really are hurting like this, I hope you find healing and safety. I care about people. // This is a 10 poem. Well-structured.     im sorry to say it was not an exercise even i wish somethings were not true though they are.

    Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
