The CU Experience
The CU Experience.The CU Experience.
None of us are forced to attend "Conservative University",
and all should feel proud be a student here.
Some of us have no other choice as to attend,
but many would prefer Harvard or Yale or Princeton.
Those of us who were 'recruited' into this command,
and those of us who have no other options in their hands,
all are trying to adapt,
but the "Elephant" is everywhere within this 'fenced in' piece of land.
We all know, life is not perfect, so why don't we act 'real'?
People here are hiding us from the outside world, and those of us who know it, would rather not pass up, a free meal.
The American Experience is not found here.
Neither is 'freedom of religion and speech'.
we were told we could be 'any religion we want,'
we were taught to learn about what happens on the 'streets'.
If we are not allowed to speak about our society's 'Modern Day' in 'native tongue',
someone in our 'chain of command' never heard the saying:
"practice what you preach."
It's not always this nice in America, and not everyone in this land prays,
we do not all go to church, not everyone does what the bible says,
but 'have to' in order to 'graduate'.
This place is nothing like the rest of the country,
many feel they 'don't belong'.
I speak for others including myself,
while I already know whats wrong,
a long time pass and I'm the first to say,
we need to revise the lyrics of our 'common song'.
as those who have experienced America would agree,
something isn't right in this town and at "Conservative University".
Why does everyone pretend to be 'perfect' ALL the time?
When did the meaning of the word 'private' get redefined?
Why are we 'erasing' a part of U.S. history?
...sigh
Why are we being taught to think in a 'one way' state of mind?
...no matter what religion, people spit and smoke and cuss,
...no matter what ethnicity, people watch porn and have sex,
...no matter where you are from, people have different religions, even many people here.
why don't we "practice what we preach?"
...no matter foreign or domestic, America means: "freedom of speech"
I am not being Un-American here at all.
I am being As American as I can be,
I'm only asking that we be taught in more 'broad and modern truthful ways',
and have the opportunity to put on "Hair" in our Theatre's plays,
or have open discussion about cultural and domestic divides,
because our founding fathers even 'sipped the spirits' in their time,
but I'm positive America isn't being Un-American to me.
"salute the flag."
"Oooorah!"
...carry on.
