    True to Yourself

Lovers come and lovers go, as they so often do.
No matter what the outcome is, to yourself, you must be true.

Your heart may feel as though it's broken, tears may fall like rain.
and no matter how much you cry, it won't wash away the pain.

Only love can mend a broken heart, but it has to have a chance.
We're all here for a reason, it's not just happenstance.

A kind word, a simple smile, the softness of a touch.
The moisture of a latent kiss, that has come to mean so much.

The pleasure of a memory, a whisper on the wind.
Can take you back to yesterday, while your heart's still on the mend.

After darkness, there is sunshine to start the day anew.
And no matter how much it hurts, to yourself, you must be true

hapenstance? love that word... unfortunately i don't think i can love anyone when my heart is broken... which is bad especially since that's what it takes to heal... =(

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
