    I get on the bus,
    pull out my phone.
    Blue and shiny,
    half my world at my fingertips.
    Hm.
    2 missed texts.
    And they're from her.
    "help. I'm in the bathroom
    and...
    I'm doing it."
    Oh shit.
    What did I miss?
    "Mallie. I'm doing it again.
    I'm sorry.
    I need help."
    What!? No!
    But..How..
    Why didn't I check?
    I ALWAYS check!
    I should have been there for her
    to text her back
    to save her frmo herself.
    She needed me.
    I told her I'd always be there,
    and I wasn't
    So much for that.
    Why didn't I look
    at my 2 missed texts?

    AMAZING! I've felt so much alike for this so many times in my life and this captures everything I felt at those times. 10/10

    Wow. This is a great poem, like really great. You get the feeling of helplessness and guilt, trying to be the hero, the protector, but failing... Bravo. ~Audrey

    thanks, thats exactly what i was trying to portray.

    Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
