    Poem Commentary

Just something I did in school.

    Autobiographical poem

    Rachel Nichole Varnell

    Eighteen years old

Sweet and kind to everyone around

Loving and caring to those who are in need

Music, friends, and family are my life

Cheesecake and Dr. Pepper are a good snack

    Chinese is good to eat

Brandi, who is my best friend

And very poetic in everything I do

I have a twin, who is like my best friend

Mom and dad who are very sweet

I love to play basketball, pool, and go bowling

Even swim on a nice day

Three sisters are all I need

Thank God it’s not a set of three

Being a twin is just enough

                               And that’s all about me

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
