Conclusion
Underneath the microscope againanalyzing each detail
contemplating the results I'd found
seeing how the train derailed
It was unreal...a moment,
that became what I wanted it to be
I looked into your eyes and saw
only what I wanted to see
I looked for good, for something there
that "diamond in the rough"
found delight in your novelty
your comments... off the cuff
You weren't like any other
I'd disect your story out
ponder how your nature formed
curious how you'd come about
I couldn't tolerate the awful
though I knew that it was there
I turned away or closed my eyes
tried to confront it when I dared
I thought that I could heal you
just tried to love away the hurt
tried not to feel your comments' sting
your bulldozer, so curt
I tried to prove my theory
my brave hypothesis
that we see what we want to
yet somehow there's still the antithisus
I looked hard for integrety
good meaning, intentions were there
but when it came to follow through
could it be...you didn't care?
You were my challenge,
I'd set my sights on you
I brought out so much good
magnified that perfect hue
You had a mind for science,
and of course the scientist
must except the results for what they are
we couldn't pass the test
While the chemical reaction
could be enjoyable, intense
somehow these two components
were never meant to mix
