Your Wonderful Life
I'm holding on to youlike this old photograph
while it's healthy to cry
I'd just as well laugh
I couldn't see it coming
no, I didn't have a clue
your so moving on
and I'm just not over you
I hate what you've become
but love what you once were
how we've got to this point
is such a violent blur
Most men grow well with age
a little gray is dignified
but to see the best of you
I'd ask time to rewind
No it's not your looks I speak of
your handsome, stylish, cool
your broader chest and flatter tummy
you've embraced this new you
Materials...possession
still more you must aquire
your the stare of the show
to which you did aspire
Who I am would have died
if you'd locked me in that role
so who you are is gone instead
and time will take it's toll
So why am I sad to be replaced
when actings not my heart
I couldn't live a lie
I couldn't play that part
While you have all you dreamed of
I never wanted it
I'm happier with nothing
It's better off we split
I do not want a scene in your play
a role in this great show
I'm not allured by the life you live
and so I must let go.
