Farewell Letter
These four walls are all I seeThe clock ticks the day away
If the darkness wants to devour me,
I think that would be okay.
We all gotta go sometime,
It might as well be now -
You know I cannot press rewind,
And I must take my bow.
If it's all the same to you,
I may as well start here;
Some you may think you knew,
But let me make it clear.
Life may seem like a game
Until you play for keeps,
But don't forget to have some fun
And look before you leap.
And when you hit rock bottom,
Make sure it isn't clay;
Things often turn around
When we're looking the other way.
If you find another to love,
Well, don't let me hold you back;
I won't be here to keep you warm,
So cut them a little slack
I know you don't wanna say it.
I know you are afraid,
But know I am not worried;
It will all be okay.
There's no point in cryin'
For a person who has gone.
We both know that I'm dyin'
So let me go and move on.
Since I am leaving first,
I'm writing you this letter.
When things become the worst,
I hope this makes it better.
My eyes are growing tired, aged -
This may be my cue
For me to get off the stage
And leave it all to you.
There's no such thing as goodbye -
Just a hello I've yet to give;
Just because my body dies,
Doesn't mean I do not live.
So live for me, my dear
And I will live in you
And I will always be right here
Until your time is through.
Goodbye.
