My Prayer

My Prayer

In my eyes there was trouble.
In my heart was the grief,
that the flesh can bring.

In my prayers were the words,
Lord Father help me;
For I know not what to do.

Man has reached his limits,
he can do no more.
And serious troubles,
still lye at my doorstep.

So swift my Lord,
was your right hand to help me.
So complete were your eyes
to see all my troubles.

So amazing was your resolve
to set my life to right.
Thank you;

My Lord

A lovely modern psalm Trevon. I just had to search back through 7 pages of itsheartbeat who is hogging the site right now. I hope others search this far back to find this precious write. Blessings, Whiskers.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
