Pomegranate Tea
Somewhere, in the depths of my being,
a biological alarm clock
strives to wake me.
With eyes flickered open,
the first thing I see,
my beloved teddy, staring back at me.
I smile and slowly raise my head
from the pillow of cotton red.
sliding my feet into snow-colored slippers,
so the cold winter air
cannot devour my smallest toes.
It's beautiful- the morning.
In a plastic container kept under my bed,
is that equivalent
to the stash of a drug-lord.
However, rather than acid, weed or coke,
my stash is made up of little tea bags.
Pomegranate Tea!
O! How I love thee!
You are thine shawl during cold mornings,
and thine comfort in the worrisome nights.
Pomegranate Tea,
my key to set my dark mood free.
