    RELIGION'S KILLIN PEOPLE!

     

    Religion’s killed more people,

    than lovin ever did.

    But we keep fightin ‘bout it,

    who we tryin to kid?

     

    You sell your God to me.

    I sell some God to you.

    Religions killed more people,

    so what we gonna do?

     

    Don’t believe what I believe,

    and I’ll show you the way.

    You’ll believe me when you see

    the taxes that I pay

     

    When you believe what I believe

    It’s more real to me.

    Just believe what I believe,

    and you’ll see what I see .

     

    I’m scared of the Catholics,

    the Christians and the Jews’,

    the Buddhists, and the Baptists

    ‘n all them Moslems too.

     

    Ja Jesus ‘n Allah

    And Vishnu he’s so blue’

    religions killin people

    “n Hindus kill ‘em too.

     

    I say we take religion,

    ‘n chuck it out the door,

    and start a new religion,

    ONE WORTH FIGHTIN FOR!

    I was reading through the comments, and it's like a little mini war online, JUST because someone has expressed their opinion with this poem--it's just argument after argument after argument. Religion is a very touchy subject for everyone, and I'm not surprised there have been wars and killings because of it (despite how horrible and unnecessary they were). I do not believe in God, and am not very fond of the way the Bible tells people HOW TO LIVE, but I keep an open mind and tolerate my friends when they fight with me to MAKE ME believe and WORSHIP God. I can sympathize with the way they feel.......... lol, I forgot it was kind of a touchy subject for ME, too, because I have so many conflicting thoughts and opinions on the subject. :) Well, it was a great poem, a bit daring to post it, in my opinion, because so many people are so touchy with this subject. A ten from me; you did great expressing your opinion. --Natalie.

    Well, I like to think that I am a religious Roman Catholic free-thinker. I have found a way to reconcile my catholocism with my free-thihking by expungingw what I judge to be useles and evil in organized relifgions. There are a few vialuable virtues left after I had done my eliiminations. However,I am not bothered by the "atheism???" of this powerful and grand piece.I find its colloquialiam perfectly fascinating, boldly conversational and , controversial, and appropriate to the theme.

    nice rhythm to this, but overall the whole message i do not wish to put much thought into, however i will agree that religion isnt something we should live for...I'd rather live for that real and personal RELATIONSHIP with my God that i serve by my own will. Very thought provoking indeed and i must say that no love can be achieved by ur own will unless it is forced and has become a robotic habit, but i do suppose that this is just my opinon.....nice poem..

    I understand - but we don't need another religion to kill for. Let's just learn to Live - together in mutual respect. We don't even have to love. Just honor and respect one another.

    if it was that easy to start all over again with what we know now maybe alot of the hate and wars would never have happened wonderful poem , full of passion and true life

    Oh Teardrops, if only that were true. We can't change our beginnings , but we can change our ending and maybe with a poem. Thanks for the read and taking time to care.
