A Child's Gift

A Child's Gift

The beautiful thing about children
is the purity of their hearts.
They live their lives
by taking in everything around.
They see the things we miss
and teach us so much along the way.
We can live our lives
and miss the simple things
that a child slows down to admire.
The colors of a rainbow
or the gentle glide of a butterfly
catch a child's fascination.
God gave children a special gift
to pull at adult's hearts.
It is their smile and gentle laughter
that ease our hearts stress.
We are thankful for every day we spend with them
because of the joy they bring us.
A child has the gift
to melt even the coldest of hearts
with something as simple as a smile.
God truly shows himself
through a child's love.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
