I'm alone with no one here to guide me
and help me be strong.
A thought of you crosses my mind
while I'm looking around my empty apartment.

and how we had so many great times together.

Along the path of life
we took a wrong turn
and it has knocked our relationship to the ground.
As I stare at this mound

The good ones bring a smile
but the bad ones bring about tears.

I think back to that night
when you let out a yell of fright
while we were driving down the road.
A car was on the wrong side
but I could not hide.
The driver was drunk
and we couldn't avoid him.
The collision came
and I remember it all so well.
The busting glass
and the clanking metal.
The thought still makes me flinch.
Why were you taken from me?
I wish I could have taken you place.
I hope the guy rots in jail for this.

There is not a sound
as I drop a rose on this mound.
I now know you're in a better place.

I think more and more
about the great times we had
trying to hold onto the good
and let go of the bad.
At one time we were happy together
but now you're gone forever.

I will be with you soon
is all i can think of
tonight as I stare at the moon.
I can't go on without you
because you were my life
but now you're gone.
Death I no longer fear
