America
She has been through a lot in her life.
She has fought with her family
and gained her freedom.
She has guarded off attacks
that have tried to take that freedom from her.
She has lived a long life
in so little a number of years.
She has watched generations of her children
pass or die protecting her.
She has cried when she herself was attacked
but watched as her children came together in her defense.
She smiles at the sight of her flag
that has represented the colors of her heart
as she has grown throughout the centuries.
She knows her children are not going to fall
and she watches as they guide and protect her.
She is weak now
but her children are strong.
She knows they will find a way
to bring her back to health.
She is the one we all know
as the country we call America.
