    Below Zero

     Too cold to breathe deeply;
    shallow rapid respirations
    are less apt to crystalize
    sensitive bronchii.

    Fingers clutch steering wheels;
    Achey knuckles, stiff and swollen
    not warmed by gloves usually
    more than adequate.

    Moon glows with clarity;
    luminous early night skyscape
    cold air seems so still and bright
    artic-like night falls.
