    Christmas Stroke

     Strong family provider
    can't tie his shoe
    his brain knows how
    but, fingers don't
    follow through

    Christmas morning
    awoke like any day
    but, in a second
    he lost his way

    the stroke hit hard
    it changed his face
    he's not the same
    feels out of place

    surgery and therapy
    help him to cope
    we'll stick it out
    and nver lose hope

    Excellent description of the horror and subsequent frustrations of experiencing paralytic stroke. The poem's lean structure understates the emotional response & is thereby more effective than more wordy work would have been. Blessings to both you and your husband. I sincerely pray that 2010 will be a prosperous & happy year for you.

    This poem flows well ,the wording is easy to understand and could be read by any age level i think and understood
