Day Makes Way for Night
Listening to the earth sing as it grows.
Gentle is the breeze as through the trees it
blows...It's night.
Gazing into the starlit sky, this evenings
calm.I reach down to hold a cricket in my
palm...Tranquil feeling.
Chirping in the darkness many creatures
interact.A fly lands on my arm so
reflexively, I smacked...Basic instincts.
Across the river bank from where I sit,
Two fishermen reel in their rods, I guess
it's time to quit...The day is done.
Standing to my feet, taking in the summer air
Thankful for the peacefulness my LORD has
come to share...For I am blessed.
As I close my eyes before I rest, I pray.
My thanks and praise to Thee to see another
day...A good one this has been, goodnight
dear LORD, Amen.
Gentle is the breeze as through the trees it
blows...It's night.
Gazing into the starlit sky, this evenings
calm.I reach down to hold a cricket in my
palm...Tranquil feeling.
Chirping in the darkness many creatures
interact.A fly lands on my arm so
reflexively, I smacked...Basic instincts.
Across the river bank from where I sit,
Two fishermen reel in their rods, I guess
it's time to quit...The day is done.
Standing to my feet, taking in the summer air
Thankful for the peacefulness my LORD has
come to share...For I am blessed.
As I close my eyes before I rest, I pray.
My thanks and praise to Thee to see another
day...A good one this has been, goodnight
dear LORD, Amen.
