Tall and Proud
Tall and Proud I take my stance.
Battle for survival, Yet my soul does dance.
Oppressed are We, A single Black Mother.
Still, I lift one foot and then the other.
Stepping towards a HIGHER goal.
Taking back what they have stole.
My mind is mine. That makes me free.
Though long enslaved I live in this land of
liberty.
I fight the chains that weigh me down.
Through knowledge this Queen will reclaim
her crown.
I tell you this as I have learned, with
education Freedom can be earned.
Stand tall and proud my children I teach,
read and learn the laws they preach, gain
knowledge, be Free objective to reach.
I sing out these words strong utilizing My
"Freedom of Speech".
