Heart On-Hold
Heart On-Hold© by Chuck McGlawn/Chuckest@aol.com
Dedicated to all those who have given their all to a
relationship, without getting anything in return.
Her heart’s been setting on a shelf
Tucked way back, out of the way
Beating, beating for all but self
A life somehow on time-delay
All would say "her smile beams bright"
And "here voice is full of cheer"
No one suspects her inner plight
Things are not as they appear.
To know this one, don’t trust your eyes
You’ll wind up all confused
To penetrate her thick disguise
A heart probe must be used.
But your reward for pushing on
Is more than you could guess
Touch her so she’s not alone
Then you’ll hear her say, "YES".
