    Poem Commentary

    I choose topics that I think are a part of the lives of many people. One need not guess what I am trying to convey, it is right there in the words I use. And as the dedication says, this is a person that just doesn't know, but wants to.

    What Do You See In Me?

                                        Dedicated to all those who are just not sure

                                        What do you see in me

                                        Am I just your friend

                                        Did things spark then fizzle

                                        Or did love begin?

     

                                        I confess you stole my heart

                                        It seemed so real that day

                                        I was hoping it was love

                                        But it must’ve been just play

     

                                        For a time we were close

                                        But it ended way too soon

                                        Turning to just friendship

                                        ‘cause our love didn’t bloom

     

                                        Now when we're together

                                        It’s friendly give and take

                                        When I admit it’s not love

                                        I know my heart will break.

     

                                        But our friends are saying

                                        That it could be love

                                        "We’re just friends," I insist.

                                        What are they thinking of?

     

                                        They say it's deep in your eyes,

                                        Tell me, can it be?

                                        They all say, it’s plain as day

                                        That you really care for me

     

                                        Are they right or maybe wrong?

                                        If you’ll just let it show

                                        What do you see in me?

                                        Please, I need to know.

    Wow...I wish he would ask me these things and I'd so tell him. It has never been play. It has always been real. It didn't fizzle. It was growing roots...lots of tears for water but lots of sunshine too. And now it's time to shine and he's holding himself from me...

    Some of them:) Which one are you referring to?

    In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
