Hoping
How can i begin to tell you what it's like;
What it's like to not hear from you,
To not know if you're still alright.
It starts as a simple twanging pain in my heart.
It knocks and beats against my chest from the inside
Trying to jump out to find you somewhere - anywhere-
All night and day i hear it's blood curdling cries
I yearn to ease it's agonizing pain,
But alas it's only remedy is knowing you're alive.
As it progresses, I'm being shredded skin from bone,
life from soul.
I swear it's the worst pain I or anyone else could ever endure,
But I'm not so sure I'll survive this until i hear your tender voice again.
Tonight I'll sleep, though I'll be haunted by my nightmares
And I'll wake up tomorrow hoping you're still okay.
