Prey and Predator
Here he comes, sauntering with purpose.
His reverberating footsteps fall closer with each sharp intake of breath.
A fierce eyed stare is directed on me as he moves, he notices nothing but me.
My breathing gets caught in my lungs, a cork shoved down my throat.
I feel the heat in his gaze from the distance he started at, and yet, i stand there with iced veins.
He's trying to thaw me out, it's better that way he'd say.
No, no it's not better, i won't give in to his demands.
I can't breathe any longer
He's stopped walking, the heat finally has vanished.
My eyes are wide at his strange, bewildering actions.
Kneeling where he stopped walking, his head is hanging low.
Soft, muffled, sobs are heard coming from his seemingly
strong figure.
His body rocks back and forth against the force of his
sobbing.
I start toward this baffling ball of raw, unknown emotions.
Crouching down to him, i place an arm around him and comfort this puzzling oddity of a person.
