    Listen

    Listen closely,
    can you hear them?
    The sobbing and screaming?
    The breaking and ripping?

    Wait a second,
    Can you feel them?
    They're bent and twisted,
    Meshed, shattered and rigid

    Breathe in,
    Can you smell them?
    The putrid fear and anguish?
    The seeping pain and betrayal?

Do you know that they're here?
That they can't leave, they're forever trapped?
They cannot see, they have been blinded
We'll take their hands and gently guide them...

    Can you hear them now?

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
